As the crypto bull market begins, various airdrop campaigns are gaining momentum. This article highlights 12 notable gaming token airdrops to watch in March, potentially helping communities prepare accordingly.
1. Saga Protocol
Saga is a blockchain network designed specifically for games, allowing users to earn airdrop allocations by participating in games. Following "play-to-airdrop" campaigns across its testnet and multiple games on networks including Avalanche, Cosmos, Celestia, and Polygon, Saga launched its SAGA token airdrop claim process on March 6, with nearly 200,000 wallets eligible. Additionally, Saga Protocol extended airdrop eligibility to select NFT communities, including holders of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and CryptoPunks.
Currently, eligible users can claim their tokens. However, it's important to note that Saga’s mainnet has not yet launched, nor has a Token Generation Event (TGE) taken place—though insiders suggest the TGE is expected soon. Moreover, Saga released a mainnet teaser trailer ahead of the March 19 Game Developers Conference; whether mainnet launch will be announced on the same day remains to be seen.
2. Notcoin
Notcoin is a Telegram-based gaming project reportedly boasting over 26 million players, who hope to obtain the upcoming Notcoin token through gameplay participation. It should be noted that, at least at the time of writing, Notcoin may not yet qualify as a true cryptocurrency. However, the project has announced plans to launch token minting on TON in the coming weeks, distributing tokens proportionally based on players’ in-game virtual scores. Users should also be aware that Notcoin is currently clearing inactive zombie accounts at a rate of 5% per day if they have been unused for 30 days. Once removed, these accounts may become ineligible for future airdrops.
On March 7, to help the community gauge potential token value, Notcoin initiated pre-market trading, involving an NFT voucher said to be redeemable for NOT tokens in the future.
3. BlockGames
BlockGames is a mobile-first gaming platform similar to Portal, actively promoting an airdrop farming campaign. Users who share BlockGames content and engage with it on X can earn BLOCK token incentives. The platform’s SocialFi campaign is ongoing, though no Token Generation Event timeline has been disclosed.
4. Nifty Island
Nifty Island launched its public beta in January, offering a Sandbox-style game infused with creative elements from Roblox and Fortnite. The Nifty Island airdrop campaign has already begun to incentivize community members to earn ISLAND tokens. According to official social media announcements, users earn points based on playtime, number of referred players, and ownership of relevant NFT assets in connected wallets. While the exact airdrop date remains unclear, many players are actively engaging to secure potential allocations ahead of the ISLAND token launch.
5. Nyan Heroes
Nyan Heroes, a hero shooter game built on Solana, will enter early access testing via PC’s Epic Games Store from March 26 to April 9. Airdrop activities surrounding the game are already underway. Similar in style to Overwatch, the game currently rewards players with “MEOW” points, which will eventually convert into NYAN tokens for eligible early participants. Nyan Heroes NFT holders are reportedly eligible for larger token allocations.
6. Upland
Upland is a virtual universe game where players buy metaverse properties or participate in gameplay tied to real-world locations. This week, the game announced the launch of its Sparklet token and the first wave of its “Share and Build” airdrop campaign, aimed at rewarding both early contributors and new members who engaged with the Upland platform prior to its Ethereum launch. Users can earn Sparklet tokens over three weeks through social media activities and in-app tasks. A Token Generation Event will follow the airdrop, enabling users to convert in-game Sparklets into tradable Ethereum-based tokens.
7. Apeiron
Apeiron is another game operating on the Ronin blockchain, alongside Pixels. The project launched an airdrop campaign in January, offering reward points to players on Epic Games Store that can later be converted into game tokens. In early March, Apeiron announced the launch of its APRS token, with a community sale held from March 12 to 15. According to its tokenomics, APRS has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, with 20% unlocked at TGE followed by a two-month lock-up, and the remaining 80% linearly unlocked over 18 months.
8. BloodLoop
BloodLoop is a 5v5 hero shooter game running on the Avalanche blockchain. It launched its initial airdrop on March 4, offering players BLS token rewards over the next three months based on gameplay participation and testing. According to BloodLoop’s official Twitter, millions of BLS tokens will be distributed—though the exact amount remains undisclosed. Players must complete tasks on the so-called Battle Pass to unlock airdrop eligibility.
9. Shuffle
Shuffle is a crypto-based gambling GameFi platform that raised $2.5 million in February. According to its SHFL token distribution plan, the total supply is 1 billion, with an initial circulating supply of 71,126,984.56 SHFL. The project launched a public LBP (Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool) on March 11, with all purchased tokens immediately unlocked and not subject to vesting periods. This week, SHFL Airdrop 1 became claimable—users can log into their Shuffle accounts to receive the first round of airdropped tokens. Three airdrops are planned in total, accounting for 28% of the total token supply.
10. Earn Alliance
Earn Alliance is a crypto gaming discovery platform designed to guide Steam, Epic Games Store, and other Web2 gamers into the world of crypto games. Its long-running airdrop campaign is now nearing completion. The platform collects player data to recommend suitable Web3 games and rewards users who allow data collection with “Care Packages,” which can later be exchanged for ALLY tokens. Care Packages are scheduled to go live on March 28.
11. AI Arena
AI Arena revealed its NRN tokenomics in January, announcing that 80 million tokens from Season 1 (8% of the 1 billion total supply) will be distributed via airdrop to the AI Arena community. Of this, 40 million tokens will go toward an upcoming P2A competition, and another 40 million to NRN reward boxes. The airdrop campaign is expected to conclude in March.
12. WUFFI
In January, the WAX blockchain officially announced an upcoming meme coin airdrop called “WUF,” the native token of the pet-raising game WUFFI. A snapshot was taken on January 31 for eligible holders, though the actual airdrop timing has not yet been confirmed.
In early March, WUFFI announced its expansion to the Solana blockchain and conducted a snapshot on March 28 for BONK token holders. According to previously disclosed tokenomics, 30% of the total supply will be allocated to community airdrops and 20% to early contributors.
