On June 30, OKX and Manchester City unveiled a new partnership agreement, announcing OKX as the club’s official matchday sleeve partner.
As part of the expanded collaboration, the OKX brand logo will appear on the left sleeve of both the men’s and women’s first-team match kits, while maintaining its current position on the left sleeve of training wear. Additionally, OKX will feature across more digital sports events and physical assets associated with the club.
The partnership between OKX and Manchester City began in March 2022 and was first expanded in July 2022. OKX currently serves as the club’s Official Training Wear Partner for the 2022/23 season. To date, the collaboration has leveraged innovative Web3 experiences through the metaverse platform OKX Collective to introduce the brand to millions of fans globally. Fans have been able to engage closely with Manchester City players Jack Grealish and Alex Greenwood—both OKX ambassadors—through these experiences, further driving mainstream adoption of Web3.
During a panel session hosted by Manchester City presenter Natalie Pike, Haider Rafique and Ferran Soriano discussed OKX’s vision of connecting with Manchester City supporters around the world through the partnership. They also explored the role of Web3 technology in fan engagement, particularly in creating immersive and compelling experiences. Ferran Soriano said: “We are proud to have OKX on the sleeves of our first-team match shirts. Both OKX and Manchester City are leading organizations driven by innovation. We’ve already seen the Web3 experiences OKX has created for our global fanbase, and there’s much more to come. This is an incredibly exciting partnership.”
Haider Rafique, CMO of OKX, said: “Our partnership with Manchester City has been incredible. As our first official global brand partner, we’ve made tremendous progress in just a year and a half. We’ve always had plans to help Manchester City transition into the Web3 world, and now we have a metaverse, an NFT program, and many other exciting new initiatives. This sleeve partnership brings OKX even closer to Manchester City fans worldwide. We look forward to co-creating unique, exciting, and innovative interactions using Web3 technology. As the club’s official cryptocurrency partner, every interaction fans have with OKX should be a delightful surprise.”
