TechFlow news, on September 7, the Singapore Police Force released data on scams and cybercrime for the first half of 2025. The data showed that Singaporeans lost approximately 456 million SGD to scams, a decrease of about 66 million SGD compared to last year. The number of scam and cybercrime cases dropped by 21.5% to 22,476 cases, down from 28,625 during the same period last year.
Losses from cryptocurrency-related scams accounted for nearly 18% of total losses, reaching 81.6 million SGD, primarily involving Tether, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. The Anti-Scam Command also recovered 56.7 million SGD, including 17 million SGD in cryptocurrency, and worked with partners to prevent an additional 179 million SGD in potential losses.
