TechFlow news, on September 6, according to Putian Net, in the first half of 2025, the H涵jiang District People's Court of Putian City, Fujian Province ruled on a virtual currency-related criminal case prosecuted by the court. Defendants Yan Moumou, Zheng Moumou, Lin Moumou and others used USDT to build an underground foreign exchange trading network, recruited clients through overseas chat applications, and conducted illegal RMB and foreign currency exchanges using "U coins" as intermediaries, involving over 13.3 billion yuan in bank account turnover and 25.62 million yuan in illegal foreign exchange transactions. The gang withdrew more than 478 million yuan in cash from banks in multiple locations, purchased "U coins", transferred them to upstream criminal wallets to launder funds for cross-border crimes, and profited from exchange spreads. Regarding defendant Lin Moumou denying his involvement after arrest, the prosecution extracted three key voice recordings from co-defendants' phones and commissioned a judicial appraisal institute to conduct voiceprint comparisons, confirming consistency with Lin Moumou’s voice samples, successfully establishing evidentiary links between Lin Moumou and the involved accounts; Lin Moumou admitted guilt and accepted punishment during trial. To resolve disputes over legal characterization, the court organized multiple consultations among public security and prosecution agencies to reach consensus, ultimately convicting Yan Moumou, Zheng Moumou, Lin Moumou and 12 others of illegal business operations and aiding information network criminal activities, sentencing them to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 8 months to 3 years, along with fines.
