TechFlow, August 11 — Shortly after Monday's opening, U.S. stocks changed little as investors prepared for a week of data that could determine the pace at which the Federal Reserve resumes rate cuts. Currently, the three major indexes were up about 0.1%, with the CBOE Volatility Index hovering slightly below 16. A series of economic data will be released on Tuesday, including July's CPI. Amid a cooling labor market, the index offers an opportunity to assess the impact of tariffs on inflation. Some institutional economists said the data would be critical in determining whether the Fed cuts rates in September.
