TechFlow, July 29 — According to Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper, JD Blockchain has registered the names "JCOIN" and "JOYCOIN," which the market believes could be the names of related stablecoins. Citing registration details, the report states that services associated with "JCOIN" and "JOYCOIN" include blockchain-based electronic funds transfer and cryptocurrency financial transactions.
It is understood that JD Blockchain was admitted last year into the HK Monetary Authority's stablecoin sandbox program. As of early June, it was reported to have been testing a Hong Kong dollar-pegged stablecoin within the sandbox, as well as deploying trials for other fiat-backed stablecoins.
