TechFlow news, July 17 — According to The Block, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 215 to 211 on Wednesday in a procedural vote to advance the GENIUS stablecoin bill and the Clarity Act on digital asset market clarity. The GENIUS Act would establish a regulatory framework for stablecoins and has already passed the Senate, potentially heading to President Trump for signature this week. Meanwhile, lawmakers agreed to later vote on legislation that would block the Federal Reserve from issuing central bank digital currency (CBDC) directly to individuals. A similar vote the previous day failed due to concerns among some Republican lawmakers about CBDC-related provisions.
