TechFlow news, on July 3, UnwrappedDAO, a community-led initiative by Spotify users, voted to sell its first dataset to AI music platform SoloAI, marking another milestone in user data ownership and the rise of Data Collectives.
The vote passed with an overwhelming 99.48% approval rate, ensuring data value truly returns to data owners, while SoloAI gains access to high-quality, real-time, user-permissioned data to further accelerate the development of its AI models.
The transaction was executed on Vana's decentralized infrastructure, through which users pool their data to receive VRC-20 data tokens. These tokens grant contributors programmable control, value sharing, and on-chain voting rights. By transforming private user data into publicly tradable assets, Vana aims to unlock a new era of possibilities for artificial intelligence development and data ownership.
