TechFlow news, July 2 — According to Cointelegraph, the U.S. Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on Tuesday sanctions against Russian "bulletproof hosting" service provider Aeza Group, freezing approximately $350,000 in assets linked to a cryptocurrency wallet associated with the company. The firm is accused of providing professional servers and computer infrastructure for ransomware operators and data thieves. Sanctions also target several Russian and UK-based companies, along with four Russian executives. Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis stated that the sanctioned Tron blockchain address is Aeza’s administrative wallet, used to process payments and transfer funds to various cryptocurrency exchanges. This action marks a significant step by the U.S. government in combating cybercrime infrastructure.
