TechFlow news, on June 26, according to official documents, Charles Uchenna Nwadavid (35), a Nigerian national, pleaded guilty yesterday at Boston Federal Court to participating in a complex "pig-butchering" fraud and money laundering scheme that defrauded six victims of over $2.5 million. The defendant established fake romantic relationships via online dating platforms, luring victims into transferring funds into cryptocurrency accounts under his control. He was arrested in April 2025 at Dallas International Airport and faces up to 20 years in prison, fines, and deportation upon completion of his sentence. Sentencing has been scheduled for September 23, 2025. The case was jointly investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts and the FBI’s Boston Division.
