TechFlow news, June 4 — According to CoinDesk, cryptocurrency custodian Zodia Custody has partnered with Swiss fintech firm GEMx to launch custody services for tokenized emeralds. Zodia Custody, backed by major banks including Standard Chartered and SBI, will be responsible for safeguarding these tokenized emeralds.
Through EmGemX tokens, institutional investors can gain fractional ownership in a portfolio of high-quality emeralds. As per the announcement, the physical emeralds are stored in specialized vaults and have appreciated at an average annual rate of approximately 9% in the past.
Paul Poltner, CEO of GEMx, said the collaboration with Zodia Custody marks a significant milestone in bringing institutional trust and stability to the gemstone investment market.
