TechFlow news, May 23 — According to Figment, on May 19, Hester Peirce, commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and head of its Cryptocurrency Task Force, clearly stated in a significant speech that technical participation in proof-of-stake (PoS) and delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) systems is inherently outside the scope of securities regulation.
Commissioner Peirce expressed support for issuing further guidance to clarify activities not subject to securities regulations.
