TechFlow news, May 16 — According to DLnews, Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said institutional investor interest in cryptocurrencies is at a high level, recommending increasing crypto allocation in portfolios from the traditional 1% to 5%. The latest research from CoinShares shows that the average weight of digital assets in institutional portfolios has risen to 1.8%, with average institutional allocations reaching 2.5%, the highest level in a year. This trend has been influenced by Michael Saylor, CEO of Strategy company, whose firm holds $58 billion worth of bitcoin, prompting numerous other companies to follow suit. Jay Jacobs, Head of U.S. ETFs at BlackRock, noted that due to macroeconomic uncertainty, investors are increasingly viewing bitcoin as an alternative to stocks and bonds.
