TechFlow news, May 13 — SEC Commissioner Mark T. Uyeda delivered remarks on May 12 at a tokenization roundtable in Washington, D.C., calling for a transparent and predictable regulatory environment for real-world asset tokenization. Uyeda emphasized that blockchain technology has the potential to significantly transform the operation of financial markets, including enhancing asset liquidity, reducing intermediary delays, and lowering transaction costs. He stated that the SEC should proactively develop policies adapted to new technologies, rather than avoid regulatory responsibilities because existing frameworks are not applicable.
