TechFlow news, May 10 — According to DeFi Edge, the official X account of cryptocurrency media Cointelegraph appears to have been hacked. The hacker is using the account to send phishing links to users. The scammer invites users via direct message (DM) to view an article allegedly related to their content, requiring them to first log in with their X account to access it.
The phishing website uses a misspelled domain "Cointetegraph" to mimic the legitimate Cointelegraph site. DeFi Edge warns users to stay vigilant against such social engineering scams, as messages from an official account with 2.6 million followers can easily appear trustworthy. Previously, similar phishing scams have impersonated well-known brands such as Bloomberg and Zoom.
