TechFlow news, May 5: The team announced with great excitement the launch of the Chainlink Incentives Program, a community engagement and rewards initiative designed to encourage active participation in the Chainlink network. Under this program, participants in the Chainlink ecosystem will be able to claim native tokens from Chainlink Build projects, including eligible LINK stakers.
The Chainlink Incentives Program will be launched jointly with Space and Time, an elite member of Build, which will distribute 4% of its SXT tokens (approximately 200 million SXT) to participants in the Chainlink ecosystem, including LINK stakers. The first tranche of 100 million SXT tokens will be made available to LINK stakers during Season Genesis on May 8, 2025. Season Genesis is the pilot phase of the Chainlink Incentives Program, allowing eligible LINK stakers to claim tokens within a 90-day window.
The Chainlink Incentives Program marks the first pilot of the Chainlink Build token redemption mechanism. Therefore, participation criteria for Season Genesis must prioritize the most active and engaged contributors, as this also supports the growth of the Space and Time community. Additionally, eligibility should be based on objective on-chain data collected in a neutral and trustworthy manner. With these goals in mind, Season Genesis aims to maximize success while ensuring broad accessibility for participants to claim tokens.
Space and Time has allocated 4% of its tokens (200 million SXT) to the Chainlink Build program. Half of this amount (100 million SXT) will be made available to qualified LINK stakers at the launch of Season Genesis on May 8, 2025, with a 90-day claiming period.
During Season Genesis, SXT distribution will be open to eligible active LINK staking addresses based on time-weighted average staked amounts. This model accounts for both the quantity and duration of LINK staked under Chainlink Staking v0.1 and v0.2, with both factors linearly influencing the final allocation. Additionally, fixed amounts of SXT tokens will be airdropped to eligible historical and active LINK staking addresses.
The total number of SXT tokens each eligible LINK staker can claim during Season Genesis, including variable and fixed rewards, can be viewed and claimed via the Chainlink Incentives Program website, which will go live on May 8, 2025.
