TechFlow news, May 5 — According to 99Bitcoins, Cardano is preparing to launch the Ouroboros Leios upgrade, designed to significantly enhance network scalability. The upgrade will improve performance by decoupling transaction transmission, validation, and block ordering.
Following the upgrade, Cardano's transaction processing speed is expected to increase from fewer than 20 transactions per second to over 10,000, with a theoretical capacity of up to one million transactions per second. Additionally, Cardano plans to integrate technologies such as Ouroboros Peras, the Hydra layer-2 scaling solution, and the Midgard optimistic rollup platform to further boost network performance. Cardano is currently in the Voltaire development phase, led by Input Output Global (IOG).
