TechFlow, May 2 — According to cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, it has completed the acquisition of NinjaTrader, a futures brokerage registered with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Kraken reported first-quarter revenue of $471.7 million, up 19% year-over-year. Despite a 7% decline in quarterly revenue due to overall market weakness, adjusted EBITDA rose 1% quarter-over-quarter. Total trading volume on the exchange increased 29% year-over-year, while funded account numbers grew 26% year-over-year.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that Kraken was close to finalizing a $1.5 billion deal to acquire forex and futures trading platform NinjaTrader.
