TechFlow, April 18 — The Aptos community has proposed a new improvement proposal (AIP) to reduce the current staking reward rate of approximately 7% by 1% each month over three months, ultimately bringing it down to around 3.8%. The proposal aims to optimize long-term ecosystem development by lowering staking rewards to encourage more active participation and competition within the DeFi space, while enhancing the sustainability of the APT token economy.
If approved, this will become the first major community-driven protocol change since Aptos Labs launched its "Global Transaction Engine" initiative. The proposal is currently open for community feedback.
