TechFlow reported on February 25, according to CoinDesk, that crypto investment firm Multicoin has led an $8 million token funding round for Geodnet's GEOD token. Geodnet is a high-precision GPS alternative network project, falling under the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) category.
The project has deployed nearly 14,000 base stations, offering centimeter-level positioning accuracy, primarily serving sectors such as agricultural drones and industrial robots. Project lead Mike Horton revealed that Geodnet currently generates over $3 million in annual recurring revenue and plans to focus on expanding into India and South America in 2025, particularly within the agriculture sector. Users can earn GEOD tokens by operating base stations priced at $700.
