TechFlow reports on February 22, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou revealed that hackers are using the Chainflip cross-chain bridge to convert stolen funds into Bitcoin. Zhou disclosed multiple suspicious transaction hashes and the hacker's Bitcoin receiving addresses, while calling on cross-chain bridge service providers to assist in halting the fund transfers.
Zhou stated that Bybit will soon launch a bounty program to reward parties who help track or block the fund transfers and ultimately contribute to recovering the funds.
Additionally, according to ZachXBT's personal channel, the hacker group Lazarus Group transferred 5,000 ETH from the Bybit breach to a new address, subsequently laundered the funds through the centralized mixing service eXch, and then used the Chainflip cross-chain bridge to move the funds onto the Bitcoin network.
