TechFlow news, on February 20, according to an official announcement from UniSat, the BRC-20 protocol will undergo its first major upgrade in 2025, introducing three core modules: single-step transfer, programmability, and exchange. According to the roadmap, the single-step transfer module will launch on the Fractal mainnet in the first quarter of 2025, followed by deployment on the Bitcoin mainnet in the second quarter.
The exchange module is scheduled to begin cross-Fractal indexer coordination in the first quarter of 2025, conduct testnet experiments on Bitcoin in the second quarter, and subsequently go live on the mainnet. The programmable module will start testnet trials in the first quarter and be officially deployed on the Bitcoin mainnet in the third quarter. The project team stated that further optimizations will continue throughout the fourth quarter of 2025.
