TechFlow news, February 11 — According to PitchBook’s latest "Crypto VC Trends" report released today, total cryptocurrency venture capital investment reached $2.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, a 13% increase quarter-on-quarter. However, the number of quarterly deals dropped from 653 in the first quarter to 351 in the fourth quarter, a decline of 46%.
The report shows that in 2024, the Web3 sector attracted the largest share of venture capital, receiving $2.1 billion across 142 deals for the full year. Blockchain networks ranked second, securing $1.8 billion in investment through 106 deals, while infrastructure and developer tools came third, raising $1.7 billion across 125 deals.
