TechFlow news, January 22 — According to the Financial Times, Google is adding over $1 billion in investment to AI company Anthropic to increase its ownership stake. Sources indicate that Google has committed approximately $2 billion in total funding to Anthropic. Meanwhile, a group of venture capital firms led by Lightspeed Venture Partners will inject an additional $2 billion into Anthropic. Following this round of financing, Anthropic's valuation is expected to double to about $60 billion.
