TechFlow reports that UTXO Stack has announced the launch of its Lightning Genesis Airdrop on January 3, 2025—the 16th anniversary of Bitcoin's genesis block. As the first large-scale airdrop in the Bitcoin Lightning Network ecosystem, it will distribute to 100,000 Bitcoin addresses, allocating 5% of the total UTXO Stack token supply.
The airdrop consists of three sub-campaigns:
Lightning Airdrop: Retroactive distribution to holders of major Bitcoin ecosystem assets and high-quality existing users of the Lightning Network.
User Incentive: Rewards for user interactions on the Lightning Network.
Liquidity Boost: Incentives for liquidity staking involving hybrid Lightning Network assets including CKB and RGB++.
UTXO Stack plans to complete its Token Generation Event (TGE) in Q1 2025. As the first token issuance project in the Lightning Network ecosystem, UTXO Stack aims to set a benchmark for future ecosystem projects by aggregating genuine, high-quality users, and drive the Lightning Network’s evolution into a global payment infrastructure.
