TechFlow News, December 20 — Hybrid Layer 2 project BOB (Build on Bitcoin) announced a collaboration with Fiamma, a Bitcoin ecosystem protocol. Together, they successfully tested the first trust-minimized Bitcoin bridge prototype powered by BitVM, significantly enhancing the security and decentralization of cross-chain operations involving Bitcoin and accelerating the real-world adoption and application scenarios within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
BOB is a hybrid L2 platform that combines Bitcoin's security with Ethereum's smart contract flexibility. It supports key components of the Bitcoin ecosystem such as Ordinals, Lightning, and Nostr, aiming to increase Bitcoin’s utility and expand its functionality. Its vision is to leverage BTC L1 for security and use this foundation to build trustless bridges connecting Bitcoin with Ethereum and other L1 blockchains.
Fiamma is a leading BitVM developer and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) infrastructure provider in the Bitcoin ecosystem, focused on transforming Bitcoin into a dynamic asset in a trust-minimized manner and building decentralized internet and financial systems on Bitcoin. This successful joint test marks BOB as one of the first L2 solutions to inherit Bitcoin's security while developing BitVM-based bridge prototypes.
