TechFlow news — On December 18, according to TechCrunch, Avara, the development company behind Aave, Lens, and Family, has raised $31 million for its social protocol Lens in a round led by Lightspeed Faction. Participants in this funding round include institutional investors such as Alchemy, Circle, Consensys, and DFG, along with prominent angel investors including Rune Christensen.
Stani Kulechov, founder of Avara, said that Lens v3 is scheduled to launch on mainnet in the first quarter of 2025, leveraging zkSync and validiums technology to reduce transaction costs and aiming to provide infrastructure for decentralized social applications. Multiple apps, including Zora, Hey, Kaira, and Orb, are already built on Lens v2. The new version will introduce core features such as accounts, usernames, social graphs, feeds, and groups, and support content access controls based on NFTs and tokens.
