TechFlow news, on December 14, according to Thai media Moneyandbanking, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra attended a workshop organized by the Pheu Thai Party titled "Program to Enhance the Potential of Members of Parliament and Political Personnel." Mr. Thaksin said: "The prime minister may assign the Ministry of Finance to study whether to accept Bitcoin. Can we use a sandbox approach in tourist areas like Phuket or Hua Hin? Allow people holding Bitcoin to spend it."
Mr. Thaksin also mentioned another interesting issue—stablecoins. The prime minister might ask the Ministry of Finance to explore the possibility of injecting money into the economy without printing physical banknotes, by issuing coins backed by government bonds, thus maintaining liquidity within the economic system.
