TechFlow news — On November 29, according to Cryptonews, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba restructured the ruling party's policy-making body on Web3 and cryptocurrency. Digital Minister Akihisa Nagashima announced at a forum on November 27 that the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will disband its existing Web3 Project Team (PT), replacing it with a dedicated unit under the party's Digital Society Promotion Division, led by former Web3 PT Secretary-General Akikazu Shiozaki.
The government stated it will continue advancing Web3-related initiatives. New Digital Minister Nagashima, who previously headed the Web3 PT, advocates reforming Japan's cryptocurrency tax regulations. As outlined in Ishiba’s campaign platform, the government plans to leverage blockchain technology and NFTs to promote regional development projects, elevating local products such as food and tourism experiences to global value standards.
