TechFlow news, on November 22, according to sources familiar with the matter, President-elect Donald Trump has proposed selecting financier Kevin Warsh as his Treasury Secretary, with an expectation that Warsh could be nominated to lead the Federal Reserve when Jerome Powell's term as Fed Chair ends in 2026.
Some sources said Trump discussed a possible arrangement with Warsh on Wednesday at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Florida.
Warsh is a leading contender to lead the Treasury Department, but as of Thursday evening, Trump had not yet decided who he would choose for this key Cabinet position.
Sources noted that Trump is still weighing how to handle the vacancy of the Federal Reserve Chair post and may wait until Powell's term concludes in May 2026 before making a final decision.
Some of these individuals said Trump is considering appointing investor Scott Bessent to lead the National Economic Council, with Bessent potentially being nominated as Treasury Secretary later in Trump’s term if Warsh becomes Fed Chair. (Jinshi)
