TechFlow News, November 8 — According to The Block, MakerDAO has voted to retain its recent rebranding, despite criticism that it squanders the industry recognition of DAI, Ethereum’s largest algorithmic stablecoin. Nearly 80% of votes supported keeping "Sky" as the backend protocol brand.
The Sky initiative plans to launch new stablecoins, including the decentralized and censorship-resistant puredai and the mass-market compliant NewStable, with versions set for Solana and Ethereum Layer 2 Base. The project also intends to integrate with Aave, launch a staking protocol using SKY and MKR, and build a custom EVM chain bridge called SkyLink.
