TechFlow news, on November 5, according to The Block, Vlayer, a crypto startup developing Solidity 2.0, has raised $10 million in its Pre-Seed round. The funding was led by a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX), Credo Ventures, and BlockTower Capital, with participation from angel investors including Remco Bloemen (from World), Jakub Florkiewicz (from Tools For Humanity), Zac Williamson, Joe Andrews, and Kev Wedderburn (from Aztec).
Hubert Rachwalski von Rejchwald, co-founder and CEO of Vlayer, said the round was completed in two parts: $3 million raised within one week in February, followed by $7 million raised in under a month in August. Rejchwald noted that the second tranche was structured as a "modified terms" add-on but declined to comment on valuation. He added that the financing combined the Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) and the Simple Agreement for Future Tokens (SAFT).
Vlayer is a crypto startup building what it calls "verifiable data infrastructure," referred to as "Solidity 2.0," designed to enable developers to verify real-world data and integrate it into Ethereum smart contracts. The company is currently in an "open alpha" phase, inviting developers to build on its platform. "We're currently onboarding our first dozen or so DApp developers across DeFi, RWA, and gaming verticals, and will expand into more sectors," said Rejchwald.
The launch of Vlayer's testnet, mainnet, and token is expected no earlier than 2025. Vlayer currently has 20 employees, and Rejchwald plans to scale the team by hiring additional staff across various functional departments.
