1. Around 1:30 PM local time on Sunday, a shooting incident occurred near the Florida golf club owned and frequented by Trump.
2. The Secret Service discovered a man armed with a rifle near the fence of Trump’s golf course and exchanged fire with the suspect, firing at least four shots. It remains unclear whether the suspect fired his weapon.
3. At the time of the gunfire, Trump was playing golf. He was immediately escorted onto a golf cart and taken to a secure location inside the clubhouse. No injuries were reported.
4. One witness reported seeing a man run out from the bushes, jump into a black SUV, and drive away. The witness managed to photograph the suspect’s vehicle and license plate.
5. The suspect’s SUV was later stopped on I-95 in Martin County, and the man was taken into custody. Police confirmed through witness verification that the correct suspect had been apprehended.
6. After the shooting, police found an AK-47 rifle, two backpacks, and a sports camera in the bushes near the golf course. The AK-47 is believed to have been equipped with a scope.
7. The White House responded to the shooting: Biden and Harris have been briefed on the incident and expressed relief that Trump was unharmed.
8. Trump responded: "I was playing golf when the shots rang out. I’m fine. The Secret Service did a great job."
