TechFlow reported on September 11 that according to official announcements, bitSmiley has launched bitUSD—the first stablecoin backed by native Bitcoin—on the ZetaChain testnet. Users can now mint bitUSD instantly by depositing native BTC and utilize it across various blockchain ecosystems. This integration is expected to go live on the ZetaChain mainnet beta in Q4 2023. ZetaChain and bitSmiley have also introduced a new protocol layer based on Tapscript, overcoming previous cross-chain transaction limitations of 80 bytes.
