TechFlow news, September 10 — According to cryptonews, Franz Bergmüller, CEO of Swiss crypto bank Amina, said the company is applying for a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority. Bergmüller emphasized that Amina needs to build a new team before launching operations in Austria. He stated, "We are close to break-even, but our current priority is growth investment."
Formerly known as SEBA Bank, Amina established its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland in April 2022. This licensing application coincides with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation implemented in June. Bergmüller revealed that the company plans to expand across Europe and noted strong demand for crypto-backed loans, adding that numerous crypto startups are queuing up to open traditional bank accounts.
