TechFlow news: Vega Protocol has announced that the proposal to retire the Vega chain has concluded its voting period but did not pass.
Although the vast majority of voters supported the proposal, a large number of participants unstaked their VEGA tokens before the voting period ended, causing the final valid vote count to fall short of the required quorum threshold. As a safeguard, Vega Protocol only counts votes from token holders who maintain their staked position at the end of the voting period. Given strong on-chain support and majority backing from token holders, Vega Protocol has re-submitted the proposal. The new voting deadline is set for 17:00 Beijing time on September 10 (Tuesday). Users are reminded to keep their tokens staked until the deadline to ensure their votes are counted.
