TechFlow news: EigenDA, an active validation service (AVS) launched on EigenLayer, has announced the rollout of its Custom Quorums feature. This functionality enables Layer 2 projects to restake their ERC-20 tokens to create customized quorums for rollups, enhancing user security and generating staking yields for token holders.
EigenDA stated that Custom Quorums improve blob data availability and reduce the risk of data withholding attacks by increasing the stake required from malicious operators.
Currently, Layer 2 projects can collaborate with the EigenDA team to integrate their tokens into Custom Quorums, with plans to make the process permissionless in the future.
