TechFlow news: THORChain has announced a hard fork upgrade scheduled for September 5, 2024, at 00:00 Beijing time (estimated block height 17,561,740).
During the upgrade, operations such as sending and swapping on THORChain will be temporarily suspended.
The upgrade includes updating the Cosmos SDK version, removing outdated code, streamlining node state, and adding support for Bitcoin Taproot addresses. THORChain emphasizes that users do not need to take any action, but interfaces, exchanges, wallets, and dApps should prepare accordingly to ensure a smooth transition. Projects supporting THORChain network transactions should immediately begin dynamically retrieving the current chain-id to avoid service disruptions after the chain fork.
