TechFlow news, August 20 — According to The Block, Web3 credential and rewards platform Galxe has officially launched the Alpha mainnet of its Layer 1 blockchain, Gravity. This release will bring all Galxe products—including Quest, Compass, Passport, and the Galxe Identity Protocol—on-chain, delivering a more unified experience for over 25 million active users.
Gravity is described as a full-chain Layer 1 smart contract platform designed to solve Web3 fragmentation by enabling seamless cross-chain interactions and full-chain abstraction, thereby offering a smoother user experience. The blockchain uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism, is built on the Arbitrum Nitro tech stack, and is Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible. It employs Reth for the execution layer and the Jolteon (AptosBFT) consensus algorithm, which the team claims enables high throughput and near-instant finality.
Full mainnet operations for Gravity are expected in Q2 2025. Galxe raised $10 million in funding in 2022 from investors including Multicoin Capital and Dragonfly Capital.
