TechFlow news, on July 19, Polygon's Chief Information Security Officer Mudit Gupta tweeted that a significant portion of the world's IT infrastructure is currently paralyzed, including emergency services, airports, and stock exchanges. The issue stems from a bug in the latest version of Crowdstrike Falcon EDR, causing Windows devices to continuously crash and reboot. Polygon Labs also uses Crowdstrike but remains unaffected, as they test non-critical updates before deployment.
Mudit Gupta expressed confusion that other companies supporting critical operations do not follow similar practices. He emphasized that even if Polygon Labs were affected by such an IT incident, the Polygon network would remain unaffected, as it is decentralized.
