TechFlow news — Thomas Crooks, the suspect in Saturday's attempted assassination of former U.S. President Trump, briefly appeared in an advertisement for BlackRock (BLK.N). In a statement on Sunday, BlackRock said that in 2022 it aired an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, with several unpaid background students in the scene, including Thomas Matthew Crooks. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Thomas Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022.
BlackRock said it has provided all video materials to relevant authorities and removed the advertisement. The company stated: "The attempted assassination of the former president is abhorrent."
BlackRock is scheduled to release its second-quarter earnings on Monday.
