TechFlow reported, according to CNBC, OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever announced on Wednesday the launch of a new artificial intelligence startup, Safe Superintelligence (SSI). Sutskever said the new company will focus exclusively on achieving safe superintelligence, with just one focus, one goal, and one product. Sutskever co-founded the company with Daniel Gross, formerly in charge of Apple's AI efforts, and Daniel Levy, a former OpenAI employee. The company has offices in both California and Tel Aviv. Sutskever previously served as OpenAI’s chief scientist and co-led the company’s Superalignment team with Jan Leike. Jan Leike also left OpenAI in May this year to join Anthropic, an OpenAI competitor. Following their departures, OpenAI disbanded its Superalignment team.
