TechFlow news, according to Nikkei News, DMM Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency trading service operated by the DMM.com Group, has suffered an unauthorized outflow of Bitcoin amounting to approximately 48 billion yen (about $305.9 million). The company announced it will, with support from group companies, fully compensate customers for the lost Bitcoin.
This marks the second-largest hack-related loss in the history of Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges. In 2018, Coincheck was hacked and lost 58 billion yen.
