TechFlow reports that Livepeer, a decentralized video streaming network, has announced the launch of the Livepeer AI subnet: the world's first distributed video processing network with AI computing capabilities.
The rollout of the Livepeer AI subnet will occur in three phases. The first phase is complete and currently undergoing optimization, with the mainnet expected to launch in Q3 2024. The AI Orchestrator nodes and AI gateways are the two most critical components of Livepeer's AI network architecture.
By leveraging thousands of GPUs across the open Livepeer network, the Livepeer AI subnet delivers low-cost, high-performance processing power, addressing structural issues associated with centralized AI computing.
