TechFlow reports that the EigenLayer protocol has officially launched on the Ethereum mainnet and introduced its data availability service, EigenDA, designed to help other blockchain protocols store transaction data and other information. The initial release will have limited functionality, including in-protocol payments and slashing of AVS operators. EigenLayer will rely on a proof-of-stake system similar to Ethereum’s to ensure the honesty of AVS operators, with these features scheduled to go live on mainnet later this year.
