TechFlow news, according to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Department of the Treasury is investigating $165 million worth of cryptocurrency transactions registered with U.S. institutions, which may have supported Hamas prior to its October 7 attack on Israel.
The Wall Street Journal, citing a report submitted to Congress, reported that the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network has examined suspicious activity reports from the past three years that could be linked to transactions involving extremist organizations. The exact amount of cryptocurrency used by Hamas remains uncertain, the report said.
