TechFlow News — At 1:00 PM Eastern Time on February 27, Forward Research, a core organization in the Arweave ecosystem, hosted an online launch event to officially unveil AO, a decentralized parallel computing layer built on Arweave's permanent storage network. Nearly 300 members from the ecosystem were invited to attend the event. Sam Williams, founder of Arweave, presented detailed information about AO and announced the opening of its testnet. Developers interested in joining the testnet can access further details via this link.
AO is a decentralized computer capable of running any number of processes (programs) in parallel. It uses Arweave as a shared messaging layer, enabling processes running on the AO computing network to interact permissionlessly with any other process on the network.
In addition, the Arweave ecosystem has established ArweaveOasis, a regional entity focused on the Asian market, which will specifically support the growth and development of the ecosystem in Asia, particularly within Chinese-speaking communities.
