TechFlow reported, citing Tencent News "Yixian", that Harvest Fund has submitted an application for a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) on January 26, planning to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange after the Lunar New Year.
In addition to accepting fiat currency subscriptions, Hong Kong's spot ETFs may also allow direct Bitcoin subscriptions. However, as of publication time, the SFC was not immediately available for comment.
Some family office investors in Hong Kong have expressed strong interest in subscribing to the local spot ETF. Nevertheless, they noted that the subscription scale of Hong Kong’s spot ETF might still lag behind that of the United States.
