TechFlow news: Multichain trading platform Thunder has released an incident report on X, stating that the total loss during the attack amounted to 86.5 ETH and 439 SOL, approximately $240,000. The vulnerability stemmed from the attacker gaining access to the "MongoDB connection URL," which allowed them to initiate withdrawals on behalf of users.
According to the report, MondoDB was compromised eight days ago, resulting in the exposure of data and customer account details. Thunder reiterated that only 114 out of 14,000 wallets were affected, and all impacted users will receive full refunds.
Thunder will restore platform access as soon as possible and is willing to negotiate with the attacker if they return the stolen funds. Otherwise, Thunder intends to pursue legal action to the fullest extent permitted under the U.S. judicial system.
