TechFlow news: Goldman Sachs stated in a report on Thursday that the Ethereum Dencun upgrade may take place in the first quarter of 2024, marking the next step for Ethereum to become a scalable settlement layer.
The report noted that the main impact of the Dencun upgrade will be improving Layer 2 rollup data availability via proto-danksharding, thereby reducing rollup transaction costs and passing these benefits on to end users.
In addition, the report added that Dencun will enhance Ethereum's scalability through rollup technology, optimize gas fees, improve network security, and implement several housekeeping updates.
